Who needs Subway? You can whip up a delicious vegan sandwich at home — easy on the effort and easy on the wallet. Hearty meatballs in tomato sauce, topped with melty VANOZZA Mozzarella in a crispy ciabatta.
Ingredients
For 2 sandwiches
- 1 ciabatta
- 160 g vegan mozzarella from VANOZZA
- 125 ml ready-made tomato sauce from a jar (e.g. arrabiata)
- 200 g vegan meatballs
- ½ red onion
- Fresh basil
- Salt, pepper

Heat a pan. Sear the vegan meatballs in a little oil. Once they are browned and cooked through, add the tomato sauce.

Slice the ciabatta open along the long side and fill it with the meatball-sauce mixture. Then top generously with vegan mozzarella.

Bake the sandwich in the oven at 180°C for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Slice the red onion into half rings. After baking, top with onion rings and fresh basil. Serve and enjoy!
